CHALLENGE
For over a century, the Bengkok and Plengan Hydropower Plants have continued to operate to supply energy. These heritage plants require special maintenance to prevent corrosion and aging of the machinery, as the original manufacturer no longer produces spare parts for the equipment. Sedimentation and waste also pose major risks that can damage the turbines
SOLUTION
Perform regular maintenance and monitoring of the machinery and river flow by cleaning sediment and waste. If spare parts are damaged, existing parts will be refurbished or domestically fabricated.
Although the original manufacturer no longer supplies spare parts, PLN IP has successfully maintained the condition of these two heritage plants, allowing them to continue playing a role in supplying electricity to the Java System
