Plant Operation Training and Simulators PLTU Supercritical for PT Makmur Sejahtera Wisesa (MSW)

CHALLENGE

PLN IP organized the "Power Plant Operation Training and Supercritical Coal-Fired Power Plant Simulator Training at PT Makmur Sejahtera Wisesa (MSW)," a subsidiary of PT Adaro Energy Tbk. The training was divided into two main phases. The first phase involved in-class training (online), utilizing interactive visual aids and structured Q&A sessions to maintain engagement and ensure deep understanding. The second phase involved hands-on training with the Supercritical Coal-Fired Power Plant simulator (offline) using specialized facilities and advanced simulators, with scheduling carefully arranged to ensure all participants had optimal practice opportunities.

SOLUTION

PLN IP provided theoretical training on coal-fired power plants and best practices for operating Supercritical Coal-Fired Power Plants end-to-end, covering combustion systems in the boiler, Balance of Plant (BOP), turbine and generator operation, control and instrumentation, and interlock and protection systems. The training then proceeded with high-fidelity simulator practice to simulate plant operations, disturbance simulations, and troubleshooting using the Supercritical Coal-Fired Power Plant Simulator. Both phases of the training were designed to meet participants' needs for understanding theoretical material and applying it in a near-real-world environment.
